With the Cultural Committee, (hereafter CULT), formerly the Cultural Committee, we hope to give the association a transdisciplinary allure. The intention with which CULT was once founded is well known to us: to present cultural events, again, separately from philosophy. Yet, increased interaction with culture and literature seems to be an excellent way to sharpen philosophical sensibilities, even when this is not the explicit starting point. A mutual inspiration, we believe, is an excellent way for artists and philosophers to complement each other's talents. There is a sea of different types of events that can be organized!! With a book club, reading hours, museum outings and other cultural events, this committee offers a platform for members to delve into philosophical literature and cultural heritage. Through stimulating conversations and shared interpretations, CULT explores the rich connections between philosophy, literature and art. Offline book reading sessions along with a wider array of literature and cultural texts from non-western philosophers will also be introduced. This year, there will be a new emphasis on organizing more Dutch-international culture or literature-related events to hopefully make CULT a breeding ground for close friendships.
